Simply Party for a Cause.

Mission:

Shake Move Grow is a nonprofit foundation dedicated to raising scholarship funds for High School Seniors pursuing Higher Education.  SMG is creating awareness for students promoting a healthy mind and healthy body through higher education.

Who are we?

We are professionals from Chicago who believe that Shake Move Grow can help bring and promote wellness to Chicago’s youth with our scholarships and growing programs.

What do we do?

We are an organization that plans business networking fundraising events to raise scholarships for tuition and books for Chicagoland seniors in high school. We hope to incorporate and grow our mentorship programs with students and lecture on careers and healthy lifestyles.

Why do we do it?

We believe there is a need to “pay it forward” and help out students in Chicago and promote higher education with scholarships for students who may not have the perfect G.P.A. or automatically qualify for government assistance.  We will work with students that demonstrate academic achievement, are involved in their community and have future aspirations for a college education to make their world a better place.

How do we do it?

We are funded by our board/committee/advisory members and attendees to our business networking events.  We hope to gain business sponsors & corporate & federal grants.

Future cities for SMG?

Do you see SMG events that you can sponsor in your city?
Can you see Shake Move Grow scholarships help in your high school student’s city and school?

Anne L. Mendez recently moved back to Chicago after living in Barcelona,
Spain for over two years as an English teacher.  There she was able to mentor and teach children having made a lasting impression.  She is also responsible for starting three Girl Scout troops in the Chicagoland area back in her early 20's where she served six years as a Girl Scout leader and delegate.  An article about her many accomplishments was written and featured in the Girl Scouts magazine called the Connection in 2001.  She has spent the last 15 years volunteering her time with other organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, coaching little league baseball, teaching, etc.  Her passion for positive change is what drives her to make a difference.
